Ring Sizing
If you need to figure out your ring size, one of the simplest ways is to get measured at your local jewelry store. If you would like to try to do this at home, here are some tips for doing it yourself.
Measure with Paper or String
- Start by cutting out a strip of paper or piece of string that is approximately 4 inches long.
- Wrap the paper or string around the base of the intended finger, and then mark where it overlaps. The length of the paper you measured in millimeters is the circumference of your finger.
- After finding this measurement, use the conversion chart to find the corresponding ring size.
- If the size of your finger below the knuckle drastically differs in size from the knuckle itself, measure your knuckle as well. Then, choose a size that falls more in the middle of these two measurements.
Measure a Ring You Already Own That Fits
- Be sure that the ring you are measuring fits the finger that you intend to wear your new ring on and is of a similar width. Skinny bands will fit differently than wide bands.
- Take a ruler and measure straight across the inside of the ring from edge to edge.
- Take the diameter measurement in millimeters, and then use this measurement-conversion chart to find your ring size.
